Applying “Mathematical Formula” to Other Subjects

Is there any “Formula” that can be applied to write an essay ?

If you were asked to find the 100th term of a known Arithmetic Progression, definelty it would not be a problem but… to write an essay with a “Mathematical Formula” ?

A friend  of mine approached me asking the above question because his newphew never get a good mark for that, be it a descriptive or informative  essay. His newphew has been reading a lots of reference books ( including those of  “How to..” ) and also practising writing but to no avail

I told him my “Solution Method” :-

  1. Get a handful of quality essays
  2. ( either informative or descriptive type )

  3. “The Introduction”-By looking all the essays  ( such as on Informative essays) ,more or less there are some methods  used by the writer
  4. For e.g An Essay on ” The overfloat of ebooks on the internet”. Let’s say the writer begin the introduction by either:-

         Stating the statistics ,

         Giving a scenerio or

Giving a brief history of internet etc

Thus, for the above, there are 3 methods used in the introduction.

Apply the same method to the content of the essay.

Get familiar with 3 or 4 methods for various topics and use it as a  practical way of improving the wrtiting skill

A few months later, he came back to me and smiling with a responsed .It’s gradually working !

Now his newphew take another drastic step.He memorize all the “bombastic” lines used in the approache for future use !

My Add Maths

I wonder how many”bombastic words” ( formula ? ) this student is going to memorise and use it in his SPM Exam. So, to this student, there is such formula to write an essay !
